John and Michael - our story.
Cancer hurts us all at some point, in one way or another.
John's mum passed away last year following a courageous battle with a brain tumour, and his much-loved sister-in-law Angela is showing real strength and bravery as she beats her illness.
Our friend and colleague Rebecca Trueman (see pic!) has gone through some really tough treatment this year and has remained incredibly positive (as well as continuing to run!), being an inspiration to us all at work. Most of our friends and colleagues at Bradford Council will have been touched by cancer in some way and this has inspired us to run the Leeds half-marathon and raise money for Yorkshire Cancer Research. YCR's goal is to ensure that by 2025 at least 2,000 more people in the region survive cancer each year. They have committed £100m over the next 10 years to help tackle the region's biggest cancer problems, working with researchers, scientists, clinicians and others. This work will really help to improve future outcomes for us and our loved ones.
Please, please support our half-marathon effort by donating via the button on this page. Every contribution goes straight to the charity, will be gratefully received and will make a real difference. Thankyou!
